Un territorio nascosto magico, incastonato tra Viterbo, l’Umbria e la Toscana. Una terra, crocevia della storia che ha visto nascere e tramontare antiche civiltà, fronteggiarsi papi ed imperatori, predicare santi e bruciare sul rogo i pagani. Parliamo della Tuscia e dei tanti misteri nascosti, come la Piramide Etrusca, costruzione, che si trova nel sito archeologico di Santa Cecilia a Bomarzo, riemersa dalla fitta boscaglia come per magia solo pochi anni fa ma anche del sito archeologico di Pietra Amara, nel terrirorio di Bassano in Teverina.
E proprio a Bassano per coniugare archeologia e contemporaneità è nato grazie alla volontà della scultrice Lucilla Catania e degli archeologi del Gruppo Archeologico bassanese, il progetto ‘Sculture in Campo’.
A hidden magical territory, nestled between Viterbo, Umbria and Tuscany. A land, at the crossroads of history, that has seen the rising and setting of ancient civilizations, the conflicts between popes and emperors, the preachings of saints and the burning at the stake of pagans. We are speaking of the Tuscia region and its many hidden mysteries, such as the Etruscan Pyramid, a construction, located in the Santa Cecilia archaeological site in Bomarzo, which emerged from the dense bush as if by magic a few years ago; as well as the archaeological site of Pietra Amara, in the territory of Bassano in Teverina.
And it is right in Bassano where a marriage between archeology and modernity was born thanks to the will of the sculptor Lucilla Catania and of the archaeologists of the Archaeological Group Bassano: the project ‘Sculptures in the Field.

Domenica 8 ottobre, con la delegazione del FAI (Fondo ambiente italiano) il Gruppo Archeologico Bassanese guiderà chi vorrà partecipare lungo un percorso archeo-naturalistico che partirà alle 9:30 dalla Chiesa dei Lumi di Bassano, per poi visitare l’antica Fornace verga del XIX secolo, le Dighe, l’Altare Casole per concludersi con un aperitivo presso il giardino di “Sculture in campo”, inaugurato recentemente da Lucilla Catania, dove sarà possibile visitare un selezione di sculture di arte contemporanea. Da lì si tornerà al borgo dove nel pomeriggio si potrà visitare la Torre dell’orologio. Per chi volesse, con un contributo di € 20,00, sarà possibile pranzare presso il ristorante Borgo Antico (necessaria la prenotazione ).

Sunday, October 8, along with the delegation of the FAI (Italian Environment Fund), the Archaeological Group Bassanese will guide those who wish to participate along an archaeological and nature trail that will start at 9:30 am from the Church of Bassano Enlightenment. The itinerary will then proceed to the ancient furnace of the nineteenth century, the dams and the Casole Altar and ends with a aperitif at the “Sculptures in the Field”, inaugurated recently by Lucilla Catania, where it is possible to visit a selection of contemporary sculptures. From there the route will return to the town where in the afternoon the Clock Tower can be visited. For those who wish, with a contribution of € 20.00, lunch will be served at the Borgo Antico restaurant (reservations required).
